David Scott (D-GA) is running for reelection – just hours after the paper reported he died. Scott, 80, died on Wednesday in the middle of his 12th term in the House. He is the fourth Democrat to die in this Congress, joining former Reps. Sylvester Turner (D-TX), Raúl Grijalva (D-AZ), and Gerry Connolly (D-VA), who were in their 70s. Scott was seeking reelection. And according to a social media post, he still is, despite being dead. “Despite the concerns about his health and age as well as facing another tough primary contest, U.S. Rep. David Scott said he will seek another term in the House,” the Journal-Constitution posted on Bluesky. The post, which has since been deleted, linked to an article from August 28, 2025 that raised concerns about his age and health. Georgia Governor Brian Kemp will call a special election to fill the seat. Scott’s name will remain on next month’s primary ballot because, according to a spokesperson for the secretary of state, “It is too late to change the ballot as early voting starts Monday.” Before his death, Mediaite last covered Scott in December 2024 after he yelled at Politico photographer Francis Chung outside the Capitol. “Who gave you the right to take my picture, asshole?” Politico reported the congressman as saying. “I’m going to ask you to not come and take a picture of us as we’re trying to get into the Capitol,” a staffer told Chung. “I’m going to ask you very nicely to not do that. ‘I’ve Seen Too Much’: Congressman Tim Burchett Says He Knows Aliens Exist and He’s Getting Death Threats, Thanks to His ‘Big Mouth’
Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) told Piers Morgan on Tuesday that he’s certain aliens exist because he had seen “too much,” including “videos” and “pictures” shown to him by government officials. During an interview with Burchett on Piers Morgan Uncensored, Morgan said, “Let me start with a very direct question. Do you believe aliens exist?” “Yes, sir. I do,” replied Burchett, before arguing that several passages from the Bible were evidence of ancient astronauts. “We’ve seen too much. I’ve seen too much. Not myself personally, but out when I’ve been briefed by government officials. Video, pictures. Some of the best-trained pilots in the world have described having close collisions with some sort of aircraft or apparatus, and so I think it’s time that they come clean.” He continued, “I don’t know if it’s about little green men or flying saucers, Mr. Morgan, but I do think it’s about disclosure, it’s about transparency, and as a member of the media, you should be all for that regardless. I just want to know what we’re spending tens of millions of dollars on.” After Morgan asked Burchett whether he had “seen any cold, hard, irrefutable factual evidence to support alien life,” the congressman responded, “Well, unless dozens of federal authorities are lying to me and pilots are lying to me, and the pictures and videos and things they’ve shown me are complete fabrications, and if they are, then I guess I haven’t. But have I seen a craft or anything flying over me that was unidentifiable? No sir, I have not personally.” “Some of the stuff I’ve heard is pretty troubling. Fox’s Pergram Presses Johnson on Why GOP’s Cory Mills Isn’t Being Pushed Out After Dem Resigns
Fox News chief congressional correspondent Chad Pergram pressed House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) on whether he’s “concerned” about allegations against Rep. Cory Mills (R-FL) amid multiple Democrats resigning from Congress under clouds of controversy. “Why wouldn’t you do something against Mr. Mills?” Pergram asked Johnson, after noting that a House Ethics panel was weighing sanctions against Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick before she resigned from Congress. Cherfilus-McCormick was found guilty of 25 out of 27 ethics violations for embezzling millions of dollars. The Department of Justice in November charged Cherfilus-McCormick, her brother, and others with stealing COVID relief funds and campaign violations. She’s denied all wrongdoing. Eric Swalwell also recently resigned from Congress and dropped from the California gubernatorial race after facing multiple accusations of sexual misconduct, including rape and drugging. “These are all individual cases. That would be absurd,” Johnson told Pergram after being asked about the lack of effort to remove the representative. Mills is being investigated by the House Ethics Committee over allegations of “sexual misconduct and/or dating violence,” as well as campaign finance violations. Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced a resolution on Monday to expel Mills from Congress. According to a report from The Washington Post, police wanted to arrest Mills last year over the alleged assault of a woman. Body camera footage and documents revealed that a lieutenant ordered officers not to arrest Mills after his accuser changed her story after speaking to Mills. The congressman has denied all wrongdoing. Johnson stressed that Mills deserves his “due process.” He said: We are always concerned when allegations of inappropriate behavior and certainly sexual misconduct are made against members. If you talk to Representative Mills, and he’s entitled to do that, he has said that all of these allegations are untrue. He is working through that. There is a due process that he is allowed and they’re going through that process as have all the other members. It took Sheriff Alissa McCormick, it took over two years for them to work through that in a deliberative fashion so we support that process [and] we don’t prejudge anything. I can decry how horrific allegations are but until they’re proven, they’re only allegations. Pegram then asked Johnson if he’s been “approached” by House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) about Mills. “Have you not been approached by Mr. Jefferies? No conversation between the two sides, one for one, nothing like that?” he asked. “No, it would be totally unjust and a violation of the due process that I’m describing to you for party leaders to get together and say, hey, one for one, we’ll kick one out, you kick one out. ‘We’re Not Gonna Have Two Chairmen’: Tim Scott Rebukes Elizabeth Warren During Heated Hearing Feud
Kevin Warsh’s confirmation hearing to become the next leader of the Federal Reserve came to a momentary halt on Tuesday morning when Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) let Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) know he was running the show, not her. “Here’s what we’re not gonna do — we’re not gonna have two chairmen. For sure,” Scott told his Democratic colleague. Scott is the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, which Warsh is testifying in front of. “Fair enough,” Warren said. “Just asking…” The testy exchange came after Scott asked Sen. Jack Reed (D-RI) to speak — only for Warren to butt in. She then started squabbling with Scott over Warsh, claiming he has not met the requirements to become the next Fed chair. “Mr. Chairman, before we start the next question, I ask that we have entered into the record the U.S. Office of government ethics certification, which requires that all nominees disclose all of their assets and showing that Mr. Warsh is out of compliance and that, um, uh, he has not met the ethics requirement,” Warren protested. “Without objection,” Scott said. “I will note, however, that what has clearly been articulated is that he will — according to his agreement with OGE — do what many others have done as well: Within 90 days, be not only in compliance but divest himself from any assets in question.” They then mixed it up a bit more. “I don’t think we’ve had other nominees who are out of compliance and not disclosing at the time they come before of the hearing,” Warren said. “Not on this committee, that’s correct,” Scott affirmed flatly. “Not on this committee,” Warren reinforced. That’s when Scott threw up his hands, paused the hearing, and rebuked his colleague from Massachusetts. Scott continued laying down the law from there: Number two, [what] we’re also not going to do is debate what we’re putting into the record. And finally, what we are going to do is have a conversation about America’s economy. And frankly, we all deserve the opportunity to ask our questions — we don’t get to figure out the answers, but we do get to ask our questions. And I hope that we are able to continue in that direction as long as we are. We’re going to have a very good hearing, and if we’re not, then I will find a way to help us expedite getting back on track. Sen. Reed was then given his time on the microphone. Fetterman Gets Stunning Rejection from His Fellow Pennsylvania-Based Congressional Democrats When Asked If They Would Back Him for Re-election

The truth is, he has none, according to a report by Max Cohen at Punchbowl News. The 6’8″ hoodie-clad former Pennsylvania lieutenant governor was elected to the Senate in 2022, surviving both a stroke and a rough general election battle against Dr. Mehmet Oz, who was endorsed by President Donald Trump. Fetterman’s tenure in the Senate has been notable for a series of public breaks with the Democrats over issues like Israel, immigration, and tariffs. He has expressed more openness to supporting several of Trump’s nominees than most Democrats, breaking with his party to vote with the Republicans. Over the past few years, Fetterman has also racked up several friendly appearances with Fox News hosts and other conservative media personalities — while the invocation of his name draws boos in liberal circles. Chatter has been circulating for months that Pennsylvania Democrats would seek to oust Fetterman in the 2028 primary, when he’s up for re-election; polling shows he is very vulnerable to a primary challenger as his support among Democrats has essentially collapsed. Rep. Steve Cohen (D-TN) busted out his version of the 1978 Kenny Rogers hit “The Gambler” on the House floor Monday to eulogize prolific Nashville songwriter Don Schlitz. Schlitz, who won a Grammy for that crossover hit and had 24 number-ones on the Country charts, died Thursday in Nashville after suffering an aneurysm. He was 73. When it was his turn to take the House podium, Cohen began belting out without warning, “You got to know when to hold ’em. Know when to fold ’em.” As he continued with the chorus, Cohen stopped trying to sing and finished with a sort of recitation, reminiscent of William Shatner’s dramatic reading of Elton John’s “Rocket Man” as he puffed on a cigarette during a 1978 performance. “If you recognize those words, which most Americans would, it’s the words that are in ‘The Gambler,'” Cohen began. “‘The Gambler’ was performed successfully by Kenny Rogers, but it was written by Don Schlitz. Don Schlitz was 23 years old when he wrote that song. He was one of the greatest songwriters of our time.” Cohen continued, “He’d come to Nashville after going to Duke for a while. He wanted to be a songwriter, and he came to Nashville with $80 in his pocket. That was the first song he wrote that ever got recorded. Bobby Bare did it first, didn’t sell enough or well, and then finally Kenny Rogers got it, and it’s become one of the greatest songs we know in history. That song would win him both the Song of the Year at the CMA awards, and the Country Song of the Year at the Grammys.” “He was also a friend of mine,” Cohen said. “He was a wonderful human being with a big heart. He used to call me his congressman, even though he lived in Nashville and I was in Memphis. I was honored by that appellation, and I’ll take it for the rest of my life as a great honor.
