Donald Norcross brings a blue-collar perspective to Congress as a former electrician and union leader who worked his way up through the labor movement before entering politics. The brother of influential South Jersey political figure George Norcross, he has built his legislative agenda around strengthening organized labor, expanding apprenticeship programs, and supporting working-class families. His background in the building trades and as business manager of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 351 gives him credibility on workforce development issues that many of his colleagues lack. Norcross has emerged as one of the House's most vocal advocates for skilled trades education and has worked to bridge the gap between traditional Democratic environmental priorities and the concerns of industrial workers.
