Paul Gosar is a dentist-turned-politician who has become one of the most controversial conservative voices in Congress, known for his hardline stances on immigration and his embrace of conspiracy theories. First elected in 2010 during the Tea Party wave, he has consistently pushed the Republican Party toward more confrontational positions, particularly regarding border security and federal government overreach. Gosar gained national attention when several of his own siblings publicly opposed his reelection in campaign ads, citing concerns about his rhetoric and associations. In 2021, he became only the 25th House member in history to be censured by his colleagues, following the posting of an animated video that depicted violence against a Democratic colleague and President Biden.
