US Senate panel approves bill to bar government officials from pressuring networks on free speech

The Senate Commerce Committee approved an 18-10 bill allowing citizens to sue federal employees who pressure private companies to suppress constitutionally protected speech. The measure still needs approval from the full Senate and House.
